The HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance offers secondary school students an opportunity to gain practical experience and foundational knowledge within Australia’s healthcare industry while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Assistant in Nursing
(AIN)
Support registered nurses in clinical settings by assisting with patient care, daily hygiene, and maintaining medical supplies.

Ward Clerk / Administration

Assist elderly and people with disability with daily living activities in aged care and community support settings.
Assessment
Assessment is designed to provide a smooth learning experience by clustering selected units to minimise repetition and support progression throughout the course. All units include a combination of theoretical and practical assessment activities.

- SWL provides practical workplace exposure aligned with course outcomes

Entry Requirements
Student Requirements
- Be in Year 10–12 and currently attending secondary school
- Have a basic level of English reading, writing, and maths skills to a Year 10 standard
- Read the Student Handbook before enrolling in the course
- Attend and actively participate in scheduled training and assessment activities
- Follow all safe work practices
- Have the physical mobility to get onto the floor and complete 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR using training mannequins
- Demonstrate and practice manual handling techniques
- Practice first aid techniques using training equipment
- Practice infection control techniques

Funding & Enrolment Information
The program attracts VET funding and is designed to be delivered through secondary schools. Eligible students may access available government funding, with schools charged the applicable student contribution and VCAA-prescribed materials fee. Students must be enrolled through VASS by the relevant VCAA enrolment deadlines to receive funding. School invoicing is based on a minimum class size of 15 students per trainer.
Important: Students should be aware that enrolling in this qualification may impact their future entitlement to government-funded VET training. Students are encouraged to speak with their school’s VET Coordinator for further information before enrolling.

Free biannual workshop (first Monday of June & November) covering resume writing, interview skills, networking and Australian workplace culture. Includes Certificate of Completion.
