The modes of delivery include a combination of the following:

Online/Face to face delivery in a teaching/classroom environment

This is the predominate mode of delivery and is delivered face to face in the home school classroom.

Trainers will assist students to navigate our online learning platform

The training & assessment tasks can be carried out on the school’s premises within a classroom setting. This is mostly used for training and theory-based work and assessments such as questions, fill in the blanks, tables and charts. All our coursework can be accessed online, to enable students who miss class to complete the theory based course work.

Practical Simulations

Antrick Health Academy has state of the art Lab facilities and equipment. Its Melbourne CBD location boasts 2 fully equipped hospital wards, Computer lab, wellbeing & reflection HUBs and a Childcare simulation room, which provide real training experiences for students:

Face to Face training in a simulated environment
This mode of delivery is where the training & assessments is carried out face to face on the school’s premises but involves simulated environments &/or tasks. This may include role plays, Case studies, Simulated demonstrations and activities which are set up accordingly
Workplace session held within Antrick Health Academy’s practical facility
Some activities & assessments are carried out within the workplace context. This is carried out in the practical room at our Melbourne CBD facility. Other assessments take place in the form of an incursion and excursions.

Students must wear appropriate clothes; long pants, non-slip, closed toe shoes (runners are acceptable), minimal jewellery NO rings or bracelets; only earing studs allowed. Dresses and skirts are not advised due to the practical components. Hair past the shoulders must be tied back. The students will spend the practical days completing different practical tasks to complete the practical components of their course. This will include using medical equipment & devices, being exposed to body fluids, sharps, lifting machines and exposure to other workplace hazards and equipment.

Face to Face training in a simulated environment

This mode of delivery is where the training & assessments are carried out face to face in the classroom. This involves simulated environments &/or tasks. This may include role plays, case studies, simulated demonstrations and activities where the room is to be set up accordingly.

Practical & theory sessions held within our practical facility

Some activities & assessments are carried out within the workplace context. Other assessments are carried out in our practical faculty Students receive information on these practical days (found on the learning platform – INTRODUCTION_ PRACTICAL DAYS).

Work Placements:

Students are required to complete a WHS orientation module and submit relevant permission slips before they can attend.

Prior to any work placements students will hold

– A current AQF CPR and First Aid certificate

– Work health and safety module with a basic manual handling competency – Infection control certificate with hand hygiene certificate

Online training package for Hand Hygiene Australia

This mode of delivery is a once off session that requires students to complete an online infection control module.

Independent self-paced learning

This mode of delivery enables students to complete any missed class coursework and theory based assessments, as well as independent structured consolidation learning tasks. This consolidates the students learning & encourages sharing of information & reflective practice. This mode of delivery is expected throughout the duration of the course.
